Our Story
In 2016, founder Sheila Partrat, then a 53-year-old professional and mother of three battled lifestyle-related issues in the family. Despite best efforts, and being an educator on the subject, sugar cravings, inflammation, declining immunity, and Sheila’s recent diagnosis of prediabetes were on “the menu”. Sheila sought a simple, effective food-based solution that wouldn’t compromise taste or enjoyment. Seeking advice from trusted friend Dr. Jean-Francois Lesgards, a leading expert in nutrition, health, and inflammatory diseases, at first she questioned his recommendation : a quality whey protein concentrate.
Convinced that it was only beneficial for bones and muscles and that consumption would lead to “bulk”, she was surprised to learn that this unique quality of whey protein concentrate had benefits that went way beyond fitness, optimizing immunity, energy, blood sugar balance, and beauty, while supporting lean muscle structure.
It soon became a kitchen staple that delivered significant positive changes. These inspired creations and resulting benefits became the foundation of Protelicious.
The Problem, Solution, and Birth of Protelicious
Daily quality protein is vital, yet today's diets often lack it while being loaded with sugar, leading to health issues. Amazed by the enjoyment and broad range of benefits on her family and those around her, Sheila launched Protelicious, along with her co-founder Dr. Jean Francois Lesgards in Hong Kong in 2017. The first product line was the flagship Gourmet Whey Protein Concentrate blends with select chef-inspired ingredients like Valrhona cacao. Customer demand fuelled expansion into the USA in 2021 and France in 2022.
Parad’Ice: A Revolutionary Treat
In 2023 after two years of R&D, we created Parad’Ice, an exceptionally creamy and revolutionary ice cream with proprietary IP that is both indulgent and health-building. A state-of-the-art taste experience and diabetic-friendly, Parad’Ice boasts an unmatched 27-33 grams of quality protein per pint, with zero added sugar. Launched in the East Coast USA, Parad’Ice quickly gained a cult following, surpassing competitors in both taste and quality while flying off the shelves.

Business leader and long-time champion of wellness, entrepreneur, published author and TEDx speaker, Sheila founded Protelicious, a Functional Food Tech Protelicious which creates functional gourmet foods with the highest quality protein for measurable and science-backed benefits. Sheila is also a veteran Kundalini yoga teacher and practitioner. Her drive to develop products or services which empower individuals to live healthier or more informed lives has animated her 25-year career across Media, Education, Health & Wellness sectors. Bachelor in Food Science at McGill and a Masters in Economics & Media Studies Universite de Paris II.

Dr. Jean-François Lesgards
CSO & Co Founder Protelicious
Dr. Jean-François Lesgards has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry with 25 years of fundamental and clinical research in nutrition, health, and inflammatory diseases. Jean-François also worked 5 years in USA and Canada at the HEART INSTITUTE OF MONTREAL, Qc, CANADA and at the DIABETES & OBESITY CENTER - Division Molecular Cardiology, University of Louisville, KENTUCKY, USA.
He is now affiliated with the National Center for Scientific Research(CNRS) at Aix Marseille University, FRANCE, and has also worked at INRA (National Institute of Agronomic Research), INSERM (National Institute of Health and Medical Research) in France.
