About Proteins & Whey

Proteins form the basis of our bones, muscles and enzymes. Every day we need to replenish our protein supply. That is why most experts agree that we need 1 gram or more, depending on our level of activity and body composition targets, of quality protein per kilogram of body weight every day.

How our Whey is made

Whey is a pure, highly absorbable protein rich food. It contains about 20 different amino acids. This includes BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids).

In its grass fed cold processed form, it is particularly rich in 3 important amino acids: Leucine, Cysteine and Tryptophan giving significant health benefits:

  • Cysteine is a precursor to glutathione, which is a powerful anti-oxidant and has immune boosting properties
  • Tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin and melatonin, which help regulate mood, the body clock, and allows a better sleep
  • Leucine directly stimulates muscle protein synthesis, helping recover

The health benefits of our Protelicious Grass fed cold processed whey are backed by research and go way beyond what is commonly known about whey and protein. More details on the Health Benefits page, but in a nutshell, they include the following:
