Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to shop Protelicious, read about our products and get in touch with us, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We test the site with automated tools, and we fix what we find.

What we have done

• Named every link, button and form field so screen readers announce them clearly.
• Added text descriptions to meaningful images, and hidden decorative ones from screen readers.
• Darkened text colors that were too light to read easily against their background.
• Labelled the close buttons on the cart and pop-ups so screen readers announce them.
• Made the cart, pop-ups and menus usable with a keyboard.

Known limitations

• Some homepage headings are still being updated to meet color-contrast guidelines.
• Checkout is run by Shopify. Shopify publishes its own accessibility commitment for checkout.
• Some features, such as product reviews and the email sign-up pop-up, come from third-party providers. We cannot change their code directly, but we check them and fix what their settings allow.
